Gideon wanted long legs, spots and sweetness and that is Poppy. Sure she is a little high maintenance but Gideon is not looking to get serious so this was the best match Beatrix could come up with! The following is a private letter leaked to Lucky Fiona from Beatrix to Gideon:

Look dude, you have to take her. I'm out of other LOVE MATCH options. I know she is a pain in the ass, I live with her. But just try to focus on the same thing she does 99% of the day...she's really pretty. She's total eye candy Gideon and you can brag to all the other fellas about this show dog you are dating. Please don't hold it against me Gideon, somebody had to get stuck with her. If it's any consolation she is not that bright so you could probably give her a phone number for the local Chinese restaurant and she wouldn't figure out for weeks you're giving her the slip.
